The Detroit News comes to it’s senses

After an episode I posted on a few weeks ago about a News car critic, Scott Burgess, that resigned after being asked to “water down” his dark criticism of the new Chrysler 200, it appears that calmer, clearer heads have prevailed. At least that is the media spin as I see it. Jonathan Wolman, the paper’s publisher, said that the edits were “poorly handled.” Ya Think!
This weekend an editorial response / apology was issued Publisher’s note: Reviewers’ independence key
And it appears from an email from Wolman that Burgess will be returning to his job at The Detroit News. All I can say is Excellent! But with that said, I do believe that many will be watching the News credibility a wee bit closer than before.
Now back to the latest episode of Chrysler T Shirt Wars! Film at 11!
